I just came across another profile of him on Plenty of Fish with the user name "sweetjones09n0", claiming to be from Charleston, SC.

Don't feel bad. You're not the only one. He's been talking to me for 3 weeks, but since I had a scammer before I knew to keep checking until I found something. He was better than the one I had before. Like they said, patient..stringing you along, and didn't ask for money before I ended it. Knew for sure when he kept getting insulted by my accusations and then kept calling me childish when I'd ask him to prove he was who he said he was by sending things like a pic of his drivers license or passport. This time his name was Gregory Belland, originally from Finland and living in South Carolina, USA. We were supposed to meet but he suddenly had to fly to Cyprus for a project he just got as an electrical engineer. Said he once lived in Arizona, and even found a website for his company he had so thought he was legitimate. He had contacted me on Clover dating app. Took advantage of my vulnerability too. They do make it hard to trust anyone.

I had this man like Thomas Pequter for a three days. As soon as he asked me to move to Skype and his camera "was not working" I realised he is a scammer. He just wanted to watch me on Skype and be invisible to me. I called him a SCAMMER and said it is illigal to use someone's photos and I will report him. He got "upset", then I blocked him everywhere.
Who the real man is has nothing to do with anything. He has had no part in this and has never spoken to anyone. There is a lot to show your grandmother to show he is fake.

I have been talking to this man for over six weeks!! I kept waiting for him to ask for money and he never did, so I let my guard down. He asked for it today. Can't use his card in Nigeria, is out of money, will pay me back, etc....... I was such a fool. Luckily I didn't give him any money. But he has wounded me.

DeleteScammers are destroying trust. I feel for any real Engineer.. because honestly, it seems like all that say Engineer are fake. The love to be International... watch for that.. Finland.. to USA.

ReplyDeleteHis identity is being used. He is NOT the scammer. In all of the ones on here... these are scammers from West Africa who steal pictures, pretend to be them and ask for money. The man in the pictures is the real Jose.. he has not made anything online and he has not contacted women. Just criminals pretending to be him. Jose has had no part in this.

My mother wrote with him, too. He told her, his Name would be Juan Brandon. She "met" him on a german Dating-site at the begin of july 2017. Two weeks ago, she stopped the "realtionship" and after that she told me everything. I´m her daughter. After that she send me all photos, he sent her and i found out, that he is a fake.

- He is an engineer on a dutch oil rig, Close to Amsterdam. Therefore they can´t meet so quickly, but he wanted to meet her on her birthday.
- His wife died. His son is living in a Boarding School in Florida. My Mother also wrote mails with him.
- Before that he was living with his Family in Australia
- He said, he was rich and they could have a wonderful life together.
- I don´t know, what my mother exactly told him about me and my Family. But I am sure, she sent him photos of us and our daughter. After that he always wrote, that she should greet us from him. He would really like us and be sooo happy, that he now could be a grandfather.
--> Do you think, this could be dangerous, that he maybe knows a lot about us? My mother trusted him totally and I suppose she told him everything.
- He also wrote her, that he would own a house quite Close to her home. We are living in Germany. He knew everything about this area and said, that he would return to his house after his work efforts. I was wondering, why he should really live there....then he send her Pictures from himself in that house and i realised that the Jacks were not typically german. She asked him, but didn´t receive an answer.
- Two weeks before their "Real-Life-Meeting" he asked her to buy a flight-Ticket. She asked him, if there would exist a flight-connection between Amsterdam and his/her home (and she knew, that there is no one). After this question he stopped everything. Since that question my mother didn´t hear anything from him.
Well, she should be happy, but she was so desperatly in love with this guy!
Does anyone know, who exactly the scammer is? I only read, that "they" come from Africa, but that´s all. Sometimes I saw Pictures from some scammers, but I really would like to know, who that Person is.
It´s so depressing, because somehow she only meets "scammers". I don´t know, if there are any "real" People at Dating-sites.
And I am really so glad, to find your site here. I just thought, I am alone with this Topic. But this guy has hundreds of names and profiles. In France, US, Germany, Russia...I searched online for hours and was shocked to find SO much!
The most depressing Thing is, that These guys can´t be stopped. And that they obviously don´t have a queasy conscience.
I think dating sites have been ruined by scammers and I think they are going to have to do something soon or they will lose online dating. It is THAT bad.

Yes we say they are Africans... because they are. Who are they? Anonymous mainly and moving from one Western Union to the next Moneygram to get the money they call 'blessings'.
You will never know the actual one, and he was probably more than one.
I feel sorry for your mother. I am glad though she is out of it. As for dating. If she can't meet him in that week.. don't bother. As soon as they say they are away.. stop. They will be fake.

ReplyDeleteHe was also on EHarmony as Rob Schmit claiming to own an oil drilling company (there is a website too so he seemed legit) I was texting with him for a few weeks and knew something was just not right. He hinted around needing money yesterday for a project in Spain and his bank account was frozen. I smelled a BIG rat and upon further research found pics etc about other aliases. I have reported him on different social platforms. PATHETIC DISGRACEFUL person.

DeleteWell, this NO GOOD SNAKE has been on my trail for several years, but it was not until about a year and a half ago, that I first lost my best friend, which was my sister, within three months with Brain Cancer, then my mother, this past May of 2018. I felt so lost and alone, and allowed that loneliness to overwhelm my common sense. Then Mr. Isaac Hoffman, suddenly had an accident, just like that dear poor Jose had. He also was to come visit me before he supposedly left to North Dakota, but never showed, then to Florida, where I was tending to my dying mother, but No Show. There was always an excuse due to the machinery that he invented, that exploded, causing him to get the leg injury, just like poor Jose. Then he started asking for financial help to be able to replace the equipment that exploded. I said No for a long time but he soaped me a little at a time, and when I didn't, he made me feel like a dog. He finally was able to clean me out, reciting Bible verses to me as if he had written the book, himself. That's how good he knew the verses, and was forever e-mailing me the verses he wanted me to read, and Stupid me walked right into his TRAP. He scammed me out of $23,000.00. He did it knowing that it would leave me without a dime, and at a time that I was most venerable, because of the loss of my loved ones. SO PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL, BECAUSE THE MAN IS AN EXPERT AT HIS PROFESSION. There were even times that he actually sounded as if he was crying, and I am telling you; HE IS AN EXPERT.

I am having such a hard time with what that ANIMAL did to me for two years, and how I will never recover. I just sit here wondering what will happen to me from here. Not because I want to be with the DOG, but financially. I only wish you could have heard his sorry stories, and would even get, someone else, who supposedly was his partner, who was like a son to him. They both cried like babies. My heart was torn, and felt guilty, as a Cristian. Now I only wish I could find him, and be brave enough to not be so afraid of guns. I spend my days crying, not knowing what to do with myself. Please give me some emotional advise. Believe me, I have No Desire for that Dog, but where do I go from here?? Any advise will be so much appreciated. I have no family in NC., and my mother just passed, and my only sister, shortly before her, and now the so called friend I had for two years, Is NOTHING MORE THAN A THEIF. Friends are kind and loving people who want nothing from you other than being you.
Instead of wondering how are you not repulsed? You were never talking to the man in the pictures. Every word was a lie. Nothing was the truth and they were sat in Africa stealing form you.
You say you have no desire for him. It was never him, he belongs to someone else. You should be relieved to be away and stand on your own two feet and have a life of truth and freedom.

Friends are those you can stand next too and go shopping with.. not someone on a text ! As A christian go to church and meet good real people ! Ones that will be there for you. They may not text you with 'love you baby' ever couple of hours.. but real beats fake any day.
I understand how loneliness can make you do and say things you never would in real life. I agree church is the best place to go and find real friends. I wish I knew how to find a decent man in real life. The dating sites are a mess.

He claimed to be a Christian man and has one son and three grandchildren. He wanted to know how much money I make, if I owned a house and car. He said he loved me about a thousand times and wanted to know if I loved him and insisted I tell him I was in love with him.
ReplyDeleteThank God I looked at 50 Favourite Faces Used in Fraud (non-Military)on YouTube. My last text to him I told him I knew he wasn't who he said he was and he was using Jose Carlos Gomes Oliveria's pictures as his own and I would not be texting with him. Before I could delete he replied very angrily and said some awful things but I went ahead and deleted the text and blocked him forever.
Ladies please be careful, there are many scammers and they will use all their sweet words to hook you.
