He will tell you he is an Engineer. He says he is out of work right now.. but he is living in Frankfurt. He says he left Ottawa three weeks ago.
HE WILL ALSO TELL YOU THAT HE HAS A YACHT.. AND HE IS GOING TO LET IT BE 'SHIPPED OVER'... when asked how he was going to do this... he answers 'BY AIRPLANE' !!!!
THE REAL MAN IN THE PICTURES IS AMERICAN AUTHOR HUGH HOWEY. Sadly, Mr Howey is a very well known person so there are pictures and videos to steal. Hugh Howey

In case you're still adding to the search (I would appreciate it since I found this website via search). A man using the name "Robert Rowland" friended me on Facebook. I only accepted because he was friends with my cousin. I think he picked the surname because it matched us. I asked him a few questions and his responses were "ok" and "hello" (not the right answers). He used many of the pictures from this post. Poor Hugh Howard... I unfriended him and ended our messenger contact. Thanks for posting this website/post, it matters.

Yes a big LOL, met Todd Reynolds from Melbourne Australia, with no Australian accent! Working in Scotland on cabins on match, the widow thing always sends a red flag for me, he never got around to asking me for money but kept wanting me to send nude photos, which i would not! But he did send pictures of himself! Yuck!! I reported him instantly, i did play his game a little to get his phone number off Viber if anyone wants them. 1-615-298-9421 and . +44 141 280 3665.

Beware..He is Eric Johnson on Facebook using Hugh Howey photos.I have chatted with him once and he said he is an American. A widow and has a 7 year old daughter named Lisa who is in boarding school. I became suspicious when he disclosed his current location which is West Accra Ghanna for the claim of his late wife fund from the bank.I stopped chatting with him because I know it's a scam. I hope he will be removed on FB before he can victimize people.

He says he's 58 - sent a bogus birth certificate saying he was born in Montpellier France. He got me over to the "Hangout App". His number is 424-281-7868. It's a Beverly Hills number. He says he lives in LA - had a house in Bev Hills. Sent a pic of a yacht too.

LOL..I've got him as Todd Reynolds, too, with the log cabin story, exactly..I'm so proud to finally but him with this!! All with the image search. Using a phone number in NC 980-999-4049. Didn't get his viber number saved before I deleted that. Chatted twice a day with him every day for a few weeks ..was always suspicious. Did ask for my bank account information. Didn't get it. When I pressed for more proof that it was him, became antagonistic. Was supposedly coming back to North Carolina on November 5. I reported his facebook photo and match profile. I knew his accent was not Australian..very thick..

He started to communicate with me on Match starting March 9th. He told me his name is Andy Donnalds. He is quite charming and I don't know how he can keep his stories straight. I live in the states and he told me that he is from Thousand Oaks, CA and is moving by me in the midwest. As of this morning, I have blocked him from all communication. Last night when we spoke and I was asking him to explain to me how I am looking at Hugh Howey's pictures and they are not him. He was trying to tell me that he didn't steal this man's picture. He also informed me that he went to Cyprus Friday for work and would be gone for a week and that he was coming to see me before he went home to California. I think he switched names again, i am in contact with this guy who says he is a civil engineer, came from Victoria Canada to the Netherlands. Met him on Tinder and after i caught two other scammers, i was suspicious about this one. He send me a few diffirent pictures, but what made me doubt if he was a scammer or for real was that i twice had a videochat with him and several times talked to him on the phone. I know they can steel pictures from the internet, but don't know for sure how he did it with the videochat. But since he started a kind of asking for money yesterday, because they 'pick pocketed' him at a business trip, i told him to contact the ambassy and his bank. This morning i googled his pictures and found this site. Every day i googled the text he send me and had a hit on scam sites, now this site really convinced me he is a scammer. I will never pay any money for a guy which i have never seen, but i can imagine that people do, they drag you into an emotional rollercoaster. I have pictures and a phone-number, name(s) which i can give if that will be a help, but i think he already changed names again because since i told him i am not gonna give him money, i haven't heard from him. Last time we talked was yesterday evening. I hope people from all over the world will read your messages because i know scamming isn't well known over here. There should be more publicity all around the world for this kind of scamming. I think a lot of women/girls/men/boys will get hurt by these monsters.

I don't know how he keeps his stories straight. I have been in communication with a lady from Spain that he received about $1800.00 from. Heartbreaking. This person needs to be brought to justice. I found a blog from Hugh Howey, the author that he is taking photos from, and he has been doing this for at least 2 years. The lady from Spain had a passport with Hugh's photo with a SS number that was issued in the states in 1964 with a D.O.B 2-18-1964. Absolutely disgusting!

ReplyDeleteI wish there was more publicity and I try a lot to get word out there and really, nobody is interested in it. Nobody is interested in the personal toll it takes on some people.

Did you manage to have a two way conversation with him... two things, one you can see them typing and a message comes up... they can have clever video made that looks like it is talking, it's expensive.. but they make so much money. It's worth the investment. Often it's just stolen video where you can see them moving and speaking but can hear nothing.

Thanks for you reply, i did sent you an e-mail with pictures. If you need more, please let me know. The first videochat was a bit short, according to him because of a slow connection, but there was audio. I heard him introducing his dog, which i also saw. But probably when i search all the videos of Hugh, i will find that part somewhere. The second time he was on the couch, had a orange t-shirt on, but we didn't have audio that time. We tried i think four times to connect.
DeleteUnfortunatly he was not the first i found on Tinder. I just brook up a relationship, and like to look at Tinder at boring moments.. Untill now i think i found six scammers... Of three of them i am sure and i will send you as much as i have in another e-mail. I wish there was more to find here in the Netherlands (or other European countries) because i think it happens here a lot too.
The video will just be that.. stolen video. I have looked at those pictures and I don't think that one of the room is real. It looks like a magazine.. too 'perfect'...

His wallet was stolen or lost last friday, the 12th of May. I got a phonecall this morning that none of his friends could help him out. And I told him that neither could I.

Hangout is scammer paradise. That number, these are bought numbers that come up on your display. They can be called from anywhere in the world.

LOL..I've got him as Todd Reynolds, too, with the log cabin story, exactly..I'm so proud to finally but him with this!! All with the image search. Using a phone number in NC 980-999-4049. Didn't get his viber number saved before I deleted that. Chatted twice a day with him every day for a few weeks ..was always suspicious. Did ask for my bank account information. Didn't get it. When I pressed for more proof that it was him, became antagonistic. Was supposedly coming back to North Carolina on November 5. I reported his facebook photo and match profile. I knew his accent was not Australian..very thick..

Working in Scotland on cabins on match, the widow thing always sends a red flag for me, he never got around to asking me for money but kept wanting me to send nude photos, which i would not! But he did send pictures of himself! Yuck!! I reported him instantly, i did play his game a little to get his phone number off Viber if anyone wants them. 1-615-298-9421 and . +44 141 280 3665.

It happend to me too, a couple days ago, he is on Instagram as Eric Bradon and on Hangouts as Eric Brandon. He "lives" on the Cargo Ship Company somewhere in Spain, Madrid exactly ����, and He is an marine engineer. He is widower and have a son 14 years old which is by the boarding school. His wife died on brest cancer ...
ReplyDeleteWhen I ask him a picture of his son..he could not give it because his is for so long on the ship. When I told him that his story is unreal he get angry and stopped writing to me..��.
He use the same pictures and the picture profile is from someone Percival Hess...
I'm so grateful for this website!! I was contacted by Michael Holden on Twitter @HoldenMichael9 December 2017. It started out as a simple "Hello". He stated he lived in New York, was an engineer & loved boats. I was very suspicious needless to say I googled his image & found out it belongs to the American Author Hugh Howey...here is where it gets interesting...This Michael is claiming that he is Hugh Howey and that he created this fake profile to get inspiration for his book. He shared pictures of Hugh that I found in social media. He also says that this profile is part of his social experiment. Ironically, he shares pictures & photos that the "Real" Hugh Howey shares on Twitter almost simultaneously!! Whoever this is has followers as well as continues to correspond with women under his fake profile which is STILL active. There are several "Hugh Howey" Instagram accounts so be cautious. There are several people, websites & profiles using Hugh Howey's pictures. Check out Identy Theft on HughHowey.com He is aware of his stolen pictures but as he states...there's nothing he can do.

DeleteThere are things social media could do !! However they don't seem to want to.. I am looking through IG and we will get the ones we find removed from there.
But how much better if facial recognition was used and these profiles were not allowed anywhere... Twitter is so hard to get things removed from.
I wish I had £1 for every scammer saying he is the real one in disguise !! I'd be very rich.

DeleteBeware..He is Eric Johnson on Facebook using Hugh Howey photos.I have chatted with him once and he said he is an American. A widow and has a 7 year old daughter named Lisa who is in boarding school. I became suspicious when he disclosed his current location which is West Accra Ghanna for the claim of his late wife fund from the bank.I stopped chatting with him because I know it's a scam. I hope he will be removed on FB before he can victimize people.
