There’s a guy that started DMing me on Instagram, name is John Martinez. The account is pretty new and only had about 12 pictures. Says he’s 29, in the marines, and stationed in Israel. Asked me multiple times to chat on google hangouts. Asked if I believe in soulmates and true love. His English seems off, and he says he can’t take pictures or video due to the protocols on base. He sent me this: “In 1922, some terrorists trapped the US army with opening cam and destroyed the camps which it jerked the mission then, so that's why it isn't every soldier are liable to internet but because I'm a senior sergeant and other superiors only could . None of us are allowed to call neither receive any call“

I copy/pasted it into google and this website popped up showing it as word for word the same as what a scammer is using. I confronted him and he claims he didn’t know. Tried sending me a picture of his “rank in his hand” to prove to me that he’s real. He hasn’t asked for anything or tried to get me to send him money but I know it’s just a matter of time so I blocked him.

Wont provide a Live pic saying he "doesnt know what country he is in and has no electricity! But is able to charge his phone! He has asked for my bank name, account number, PIN, social security number, phone number and mother's maiden name. Naturally I have been giving him bogus information. This guy is a joke

Just reported this pile of rocks on Hinge. Marion Avalos and I found out before he could scam me. Things weren't adding up. Very weird

Same pics but name on FB is Avalos Henry Kent. He tried to message me in early Feb 2018 and I didn’t reply. Then tried again 2 weeks later. Said he’s been divorced 7 years. Has a son. Doesn’t mention where son lives. Profile says he lives in MN, but he says he’s from FL and moved to CO 19 years ago. Says he’s in Navy and deployed to Yemen now. Hasn’t asked for $$. Asked 2x if I’m lonely living by myself. That felt suspicious like he was checking vulnerability. Hasn’t said he loves me but tells me I’m perfect and he’s always so picky but there’s nothing wrong with me. Feels like scam. Why would he live in CO where there are zero Naval bases? Says he owns house there. When I asked questions about when deployment might end and whether he’d be going back to bass or get deployed again,he was vague and said he owns a house so wouldn’t have to go back to base. Then said IF he went back. I ask how’s that. He said he might retire. That seems like something he’d be a little more decided about or at least have details about pros and cons since it’s a life decision. I didn’t challenge him and just said it’s good he has a lot of options. He suddenly had to go and said he’d talk to me “tomorrow.” Weird. Now I’m finding this other info about him. I didn’t catch on to this before but he said in one conversation that his mom would come live with him when he was home. The therapist say he mentioned his mother died on Xmas 2010. When he talked about her living with him it had sounded like it was current and she was a big part of his life. He never calls his son anything other than “my son.” I am in mental health. Every parent I work with refers to their child by their name, nickname or something that has special meaning to them. So that’s weird but maybe not if he isn’t physically a major part of his son’s life.

I just had a conversation with him earlier! I really thought that it was just a normal guy sending DMs via IG! I also checked his IG posts and he seems to have 100+ followers. His name there is AVALOS MICHEAL! He told me that he's deployed at Africa and he's part of the USN. We were exchanging DMs when all of a sudden, he asked for " A LITTLE HELP ". He told me that he's running out of data and was asking for an iTunes card. That time, I already had this feeling that he is a scammer, but I still played along and tried to give him one of those codes from an online generator. Hahaha. And then he still insist of taking a pic of that card and code and amount as well and send it to him. Then that's the time that I told him directly that I am actually not trusting him. That I want to send him his REAL PHOTO via DM so that I can guarantee if he's real. Then he said excuses that he can't do that with his commander with him. And then I already told him " I think you're a scammer!" then all of a sudden, he blocked me. I checked names that goes AVALOS MICHEAL or the other way around and it seems that there are lots of users/profiles that has the same pictures and I kind of feel sad for that REAL GUY on tje picture because he literally doesn't have ANY FAINTEST IDEA that he already is experiencing IDENTITY THEFT.

I met this guy on Meet Me claiming he's in love with me stationed in Turkey in the U.S. Navy going by Juan Avalos Ryan or Ryan Avalos or Juan Avalos Ryan asking for money to get him home claiming he'd get an inheritance of $850,000 when he got home and would pay me back. Said he was going to marry when he got home, buy me a car, pay off my debts and also asked for an iPhone 7.
Scammed me into sending $30 in iTunes cards but kept asking for $50. Claims his son is Alex and dog is Max.

   Thank you and I am glad he got no more. Yes the large money coming to them is a common scam.
   Always beware them mentioning Turkey, when they get money sent there is is usually terrorist fundraisers. .... it's easy for them to make a lot of money this way.
   
   No soldier is online contacting women. They are ALL fake.. and none needs an iTunes card .. these are sold at high prices as they can be used in fraud.
