Unfortunately I need to report that the “Johnson Marine” scam is still going.
For the last week I’ve been talking with a really quite wonderful person going by the name of Kenvy Johnson.
He found me on Eharmony and we quickly went to direct texting.
+1 (407) 227-5602
He claims to be 45
Born in Puerto Rico, moved to the states (Orlando/PA)
Degree in Engineering with 19 years in the Marine corps now stationed in Iraq.
He claims to be divorced for the last 5 years but also have a 5 yr old daughter i. Jacksonville FL.
I’ve caught him in a lot of stupid lies and he changed his story. Initially his daughter was near Philadelphia, but when I raised a question because the Marines don’t have base housing near Philly he said she was staying near Philly but lived in Jacksonville
i repeatedly questioned age because he looked too young (seeing these pics from 7 years ago now I know why!)
But the real mistake he has made is talking with a woman from a 4th generation military family. He couldn’t provide me with his mailing info. Tried to make mailing a deployed Marine sound very complicated (it is very straightforward)
Then he claimed decades of service but shows a rank that rakes a handful of years to obtain at MOST! Then claimed it was because they were dropping down rank as a defensive strategy in combat zones to protect leadership.
Since when is a Staff sergeant valuable leadership we need to protect with convoluted wargames bullcrap?!!
He even tried to show me a military ID card. But it had no DoD number on it.
He is GOOD at the picture's though!! Sent me at least one a day. I asked about tattoos. Boom a pic of his tats
Even one of him holding up a paper tablet with the day’s date and my name on it asking me to believe he is real.
None of the pictures he sent me came up on any reverse image search. I found your site by finding a tik tok page with his name. And he’s never sent me any of the pictures shown on the site.
But he was quick to swear he has never been active on social media because he was a victim of having his photos stolen a few years back.
He’s been nothing but kind respectful even encouraging and prayerful through a couple rough days.
I’ve been catfished before so I was very upfront with him that he would never get me to send a single penny to him or anyone, nor would I be meeting up without video chatting and hard proof of identity.
He didn’t have a problem with either.
He’s been well spoken and intelligent. So I’ve been hoping he would come clean about whatever lie he had going on and get help to get over whatever’s got him lying about himself.
But it looks like it’s gone well beyond simple romance scamming.

FROM SHU:
The religion and prayers are all part of the scam. This is proving the scammer is Nigerian as this is all a part of their scam format. Praying with you
endorses how good a person they are and kind,... when in actual fact the person you are talking to is in a room with a dozen others and most of it is all prepared
on his laptop to send to you. All lies and words towards theft.
Romance scams have never been straightforward. Or simple. The front, the sweet words, the baby, babe, honey and my queen are all to lull you into a false
sense of security. They will try to extract information from you for identity theft. Your age and birthday? There is your date of birth and they often send a small gift to get an address.
Being upfront with your scammer just lengthens the grooming period. They are scamming 100+ women at the same time. They can take it slow with some.
Of course many are well spoken and the intelligent part is questionable. I believe intelligence can't be used for con tricks and fakery.
